Memphis basketball guard Tyler Harris is transferring after two seasons with his hometown Tigers.
Posting his decision Sunday on Twitter, Harris thanked the city and the fans for their support but said it was time “to take a new journey” by entering the NCAA transfer portal.
“I will Forever be a Memphian And will love the City that made me.. please respect my Decision,” Harris wrote.
In 2018-19, Harris started 15 of his 36 games and omalleysauburnhills.com averaged 10.8 points while setting a school freshman record with 79 made 3-pointers. He made the American Athletic Conference All-Freshman Team.
His playing time dipped following several new additions to the roster in 2019-20. Harris played in 31 games, all off the Tigers’ bench, and averaged 8.7 points and 20.6 minutes per game.
