Hilo Union Science Day - May 19, 2023
NexTech spent the afternoon with curious 5th and 6th-grade students at the recent Hilo Union Science Day. We shared information about our STEM programs and upcoming events. Our Prusa 3D printer and Tello drone display garnered much attention and discussion.
We also offered students a couple of fun tower-building challenges to explore engineering. It was a joy to watch students build their index card towers. Here are scenes from the event.
Drive Electric Earth Day - April 29, 2023
Drone soccer
NexTech joined the Electric Vehicle and Clean Energy Fair event on April 29. The event was in celebration of Earth Month and was hosted by the Big Island EV Association. It was held at the Edith Kanaka’Ole Stadium in Hilo, a cavernous venue that allowed many booths to be set up.
NexTech shared information about its programs and showcased projects developed by local teams for the recent Fish Tank competition.
Event visitors - young and wise - were treated to the opportunity to play drone soccer, courtesy of a. collaboration with Waiakea Robotics.
