Fall Break STEM Camp


Fall Break 2022 STEM Camp

 
 

NexTech Hawaiʻi and Waiākea Robotics are collaborating to offer Hawaiʻi Island students, grades 6-8, a STEM camp during Fall Break 2022.

Students will be offered two days of interesting and fun activities:

The camp will be held at Waiākea High School in Hilo on October 3 and 4, 2022. Each day will run from 8 AM through 1230 PM.

Day One Program

  • RaspPi Coding - This includes an introduction to coding using RaspPi mini computers.

  • Drones - Participants will be introduced to coding and operation of drones.

Day Two Program

  • Animation and Gaming - Students will build their coding skills by programming animations, interactive art, and games in the Code.org Game Lab. They will have the opportunity to develop a personalized, interactive program.

  • Career Exploration - Students will learn about what makes an ideal candidate for STEM careers and learn firsthand about their career jobs from STEM professionals.
